Is breathing the new eating?

The Lounge’s favourite gourmet architects Bompas and Parr are at it again. For their next event they are recreating Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom as a Taste 'o' Rama that will allow spectators to enjoy key moments of the movie with their mouths. We’ve been lucky enough to get tickets so we’ll be keeping you posted. In the meantime we couldn’t help but talk about their recent Ziggurat of Flavour – our kind of healthy eating!

To promote the Fairtrade Foundation’s latest campaign ‘Power Up Your Fruit Bowl’ at The Big Chill festival the eccentric duo created a novel way to get your five-a-day.

The Ziggurat of Flavour (or giant interactive pyramid) contained a cloud of vaporized fruit that you could eat by breathing. The vapour mist hung in the air as visitors tried to make their way through a fun labyrinth to the summit. When they reached the top they could step outside and leave the experience via a giant slide that harnessed their kinetic energy to make the fruit cloud even denser - making it even tastier for those inside!

Bompas and Parr’s creations are theatrical experiences that more than tickle the taste buds; they’re multi-sensory and completely absorbing. We’ve noticed multi-sensory experiences are becoming a growing trend amongst Under 35s, who are increasingly expecting novelty from their product and brand activities. If you get chance try Le Whif who also pioneer the breathable eating trend with their chocolate and coffee inhalers.
