Chat Roulette

As suggested by one of our lovely followers, here's a great little film about the deomgraphic make-up of Chat Roulette. Mostly boys and perverts apparently.

Grazia in Augmented Reality Edition

Article taken from today's Guardian...

Grazia publishes 3D issue

The women's glossy magazine features augmented reality codes, with music and 360-degree views of spring fashions

Grazia - 29 March 2010

The augmented reality edition of Grazia, with a virtual performance by Florence and the Machine.

Bauer Media's women's fashion glossy Grazia will jump on the 3D bandwagon today with an augmented reality issue featuring Florence and the Machine singing and dancing on the front cover.

The "walk-in, talking Grazia" will feature augmented reality (AR) codes throughout the issue, activated by holding the magazine up to a webcam or iPhone.

As well as a virtual performance by Florence and the Machine singing You've Got the Love, it will offer readers a 360- degree view of the latest spring fashion trends. Grazia's editor-in-chief, Jane Bruton, described the effect as "stunning".

The issue was created by Bauer and the interactive creative agency Wardenclyffe. The magazine is offering readers a guide to the new technology at graziadaily.co.uk/3D.

An iPhone app will unlock further special features, including the ability to "spin Florence around by blowing into your iPhone and take a picture of her in any location", said Bauer.

Chat Roulette

If you haven't had the pleasure yet, take 5 minutes out of your day to watch Chat Roulette. In this video a hooded pianist (who looks mysteriously like Ben Folds [previously of Ben Folds Five]) improvises songs, singing what he sees.

Guaranteed to put a smile on your face or your money back...

Crazy Bears

Not really sure what's going on here but it's a fun watch. Bears doing all sorts of crazy things.

Multiple Strides

Look out for the upcoming Multiple Strides fashion show in Manchester. It's a great event for a fantastic cause, at an uber cool venue - Factory.

The details:

"Multiple Strides is a charity fashion show taking place in March 2010 in the heart of the city that will raise money and increase awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. It will see several hundred students, young professionals and industry guests gather together to celebrate the innovative and diverse fashion scene that exists in Manchester. The previous two shows have raised an impressive combined total of £15,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and saw collections from designers such as Jonathan Saunders and Nicole Farhi on the catwalk."

Here's a few photos from last year's event.

Let's try and make 2010's event even better!

The 10 Billionth tweet

So it's not just a flash in the pan. Twitter's meteoric growth continues, having broken the billion tweets mark in Nov '08, and reaching five billion tweets last November.

This sustained popularity has lead brands to take advantage of the site's first opportunity for online advertising - Lloyds Bank and Virgin Media are reportedly the first to sign up.

Twitter, it seems, is here to stay... and now it might even start making some money.

TLG goes all Musical

A couple of exciting bits of audiotastic Lounger news:

The lovely Soozy can sing. Not only that but she is performing this summer, and at the Hay Festival no less. You can catch her crooning under the pseudonym of Soozy Q in Hay on Wye, Wales on 4th June. She also has 2 tracks coming out on Fektive Records in Holland this summer...

But wait, there's more....

The equally lovely Helen has a brother. And he has a band - The Blonde - and they were on BBC Radio Leeds last night doing an acoustic session and interview (it's all on iPlayer if you want to have a listen).

All this news makes you wonder what melodical talent lies undiscovered at Lounge Towers... can James play the maracas?... is Jamie a whiz on the cello?... Can Lou sing like Lady Gaga?

Watch out, I smell a talent show...
