What are teens putting on their bedroom walls?

The Lounge has been speaking to The Evening Standard about how teenagers are decorating their rooms.

Posters from Smash Hits magazine no longer seem to cut it as many teens are getting serious about interior decoration, even buying original artwork to pimp their bedrooms and turn them into stylish hideaways.

We questioned members of our Network of 10,000 under 35 year olds about this to find out what teenagers are really getting up to in their rooms decor-wise.

From the article 'The new teen wall art', 1/11/10:

Teens who answered questions from The Lounge youth marketing agency said that they often create something meaningful to themselves using photographs.

“I have a wall of stuff, made up of photos of me and mates, pictures I've drawn, goodbye messages from friends in school,” says Alex Rohmat. “I have New York pictures all over my wall ... things that look cool and things I've done or people I've met,” says Becky Holmes. Both are 17.

“Most teenagers have digital cameras. They are used to being surrounded by pictures of their friends and are habitually capturing moments,” says Lounge founder James Layfield. “Their bedroom walls are where the Facebook
walls come to life, and what they put up defines them as individuals. It's about self-expression and confidence.”
